You need to start with the Beginner/Intermediate sessions. I’ll also give you some handouts before class, so you understand the basics. Don’t worry, I’ll help you!

My practitioner has recommended pilates to me, but I’m worried I won’t be able to do some of the class due to condition/injury, is it a problem?
We can discuss this before you start. I can seek advice directly from your practitioner about which exercises are best for you, and which you should avoid. I can always give you alternatives in class to do.
Am I too old?
If your GP or other practitioner says you would benefit from pilates and you’ve got the will then I’d love to welcome you to a class.
How do you respond to an individual’s personal goals in a group session?
Before you do a class, you’ll fill out a form all about you. This will be your opportunity to share your goals and I’ll consider them when I’m designing the classes. However if you have a lot of particular needs these are best met in a 1:1 session.
How do I choose which class is suitable for me?
When you fill the form out all about you, I will suggest which classes are most suitable for you. Generally if you’re new to pilates, you need to start with a Beginner/Intermediate class
I’m experienced in yoga, but never done pilates, can I jump straight into an advanced class?
It would be best to start with a taster session then one Beginner session as some of the principles are quite different from yoga – although most likely you will have the strength, flexibility and co-ordination to do an intermediate/advanced class.
Why are the zoom classes under pilatestar.com?
I wanted to keep my online/remote work separate from my face to face work. I’m hoping to have other team members to work under pilatestar in the future.
